Metropolis – Plaka (Historic Centre of Athens)
Following a circular route starting from Mitropoleos Square, we cross Adrianou Street in Plaka, see the Archbishop's Mansion and the 'Benizelos Mansion', pass through the Roman Agora with the Tower of the Winds and the Fethiye Mosque, and finally head down towards Hadrian's Library and Monastiraki Square.
Students learn the history of the Metropolitan Cathedral as well as the work of Saint Philothei — Lady of Athens. The tour group will visit two extraordinarily beautiful 11th-century Byzantine churches with wonderful icons.
